I know I’m a few weeks late but I wanted to share this pic & explain its signifigance. On the day of the last show at the world famous Arena I arrived at the buildinto find that I was the first in the building so I took the opprotunity to sit in the ring and think about my personal memories about the building. While thinking by happenstance I looked across the ring and saw NOTHING. A somber feeling went through my body as it really hit me, NOTHING…. NOTHING… This building is just a building, just like the ring is NOTHING more then a ring but why are so many people making such a big deal out of… NOTHING. This building this ring they would have no signifigance if not for the guys and girls who over the years have busted their asses to cement their legacys and make this building what it is… So why are we so stuck on nothing… The “arena” will fade away and like the empty space before me will be nothing there… But in that empty ring space there are countless opprotunities for a guy like me to take nothing and turn it into something legendary… So as I sat and said my own goodbye to thid building I became greatful for the empty space of nothing it left me to chsnge this game forever… So R.I.P Arena you WONT be missed. I close this blog with this statement in my mind “I hope you dont mind me taking nothing and making EVERYTHING oyt of it”

↳ Audrey Marie vs Aksana

Humbled by the business

My dream ever since I can remember was to be a pro wrestler and for the past almost year that dream has become a reality. Through the bumps, the bruises, the injuries, the  wins, and the losses wrestling has been amazing to me. Recently dealing with a lingering hamstring injury and a unusable hand the question came to pass. What if I can’t do it, what if I can’t succeed as a wrestler? Now if you know me, you know Im a wise talker with lots of charisma and a way with words that surpasses the avenrage person. My trainers, my family  and my fellow wrestlers have been asking, “when are you going to start managing?” And this weekend I really thought about it and it’s not a bad ise. For a guy like me that is a VERY humbling conclusion to come to. Not only managing but the backstage stuff has been put in front of me. As workers I’ve always learned “wrestling dont owe you shit” and I whole heartidly agree but I feel like i owe it to the business to make it better… So at some point down the line Eric Styles the wrestler will end and Eric Styles the manager, the booker, the owner has got to come out… Apparently I have more of a chance as a manager to make it then a worker….

and Im ok with that……

~Eric

If you ready my last post you’ll remember me saying there were some ladies I thought PWI totally shafted by not putting them on the list… my Forgotten 5. Now if you’ve been keeping up with womens wrestling you know that throughout the whole evaluation period for PWI these 5 women have STOOD out this year…. My 5 are the “Blasian Barbie” Mia Yim, Alexxis(Lexxus) Nevaeh, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Alicia, & “The Wrestling Goddess” Athena.
—————————————————————————————————————————————-
MIA YIM
~If you want to talk about standout performer of the year you have to throw Mia’s name in the picture… Throughout the evaluation period Mia has wrestled in every major promotion on the east coast and toured the orient. From her vicious forarms to deadly ninja like kicks Yim is the epitome of what a young lady wrestler should and can be. Her dedication to her craft is on surpassed by her dedication to succeed in this business. How many women in the wrestling business can say they’ve wrestled in Japan.. not many but Yim can… have 2 tours of Japan in a matter of 3 months… Not going to give a specific spot for her but I must say she deserves.. No she has earned a rightful spot on the list.
—————————————————————————————————————————————-
Alexxis (Lexxus) Nevaeh
Fairlt new face in the wrestling world Lexxus the walking talking pocket rocket… Short in stature but not in heart Lexxus really stepped it up this year… During the evaluation period not only did Lexxus win the WSU tag titles but she also outlasted the whole roster and won the 4th Annual WSU Uncensored Rumble(and she started the match.) She also is the co-holder of the longest recored womens wrestling match in HISTORY going toe to toe with the #2 spot Mercedes Martinez. In 100+ degree weather in the small Ace Arena Lexxus proved to fans she wasnt just a pretty face. How may girls can say they took Mercedes Martines to the limit… I can only name 4.. If you stood toe to toe with the #2 spot I think you’ve earned your spot
Lexxus #48
—————————————————————————————————————————————-
Hiroyo Matsumoto
Probably the most charasimatic of the Joshi4Hope girls who took over the US early in 2011 Matsumoto is simply a star. During the evaluation period she captured the Shimmer Tag titles with Misaki Ohata as the Seven Star Sister (3S.) The corky Joshi girl is deceptivly strong and has an awesome backdrop driver finish. Joshi Nuff said!
—————————————————————————————————————————————-
Alicia
Now I may have a bias for this one, but Alicia this year has been through some BATTLES, more recently goinf form pillar to post with Jessicka Havok on 2 seperate occassions. She left her heart and maybe a little blood out there. Bruised and beat Alicia keeps coming back for more… recently realigning herself with Brittney Savage things are looking good for Alicia
—————————————————————————————————————————————-
Athena
~ If you havent heard or seen Athena work… you’r in for a treat when you do. The young upstart burst on the scene in a big way early this year working both Shimmer and WSU… at the WSU anniver show many said Athena stole the show… From her crafty move set, to commentating her own matches while she works, to that SICK finish the “Ultimate Backslash”(top rope spinning stunner- yeah i know sounds crazy).. this girl is “Trouble”(pun intended) Athen/PWI/BREAKout wrestler of the year hands down…

PWI names it top 50 Womens Wrestlers of 2011… Top 5 were spot on but moving down I have to say I was semi dissappointed. Now PWI I think made several mistakes last year but made it up this year with Eagles being #1…  Stats and facts don’t lie and Eagles is time tested. Even throught out a shoulder injury sidelining her for some part of the year she still managed to take the number one spot. Moving down the list I was very upset ot see that both Kelly Kelly and Brie Bella we’re placed above Jessicka Havok, Portia Perez, and Nicole Matthews. Though I pretty impressed that the Indy girls ruled in 2011 I was also upset that a few girls who have been injured for the better part of the evaluation period or have only worked a handful of matches (Maryse, Alicia Fox, Eve) made the list keeping off a lot of VERY DESERVING Girls…. All in all the list is good… phenominal top 5… PWI this yeah is exceptable
1. Madison Eagles2. Mercedes Martinez3. Mickie James4. Natalya5. Madison Rayne6. Cheerleader Melissa7. Beth Phoenix8. Tara9. MsChif10. Sara Del Rey
buy the issue for the other 40…..

So just heard the news tht Frank Talent passed away today. Now if you live in Philadelphia you know Frank. From his pre show speeches to his interaction with the fan Frank will always be a stable to our little Philly wrestling community. Everytime I’ve been in the arena and “Representing the PA State Athleic Commision Frank Talent” and uproar of boo’s would fill the hallowed halls of the Arena. The boo’s didnt come from a place of hate it was Franks stamp on the business. I’ve never met one person who had a bad thing to say about Frank and neither did I. From the first day I stepped into the Arena as a wrestler to the last time I saw Frank (JAPW/NJPW Supershow) Frank always was in a good mood. He will always be known as being very approachable and a lively old guy… Frank can be replaced in title but not in spirit or in memories… My personal thoughts and prayers go out to his family and Frank will be missed in this world we call wrestling… Rest in Peace Frank Talent 9/8/11

This saturday my home promotion CZW will be running our Annual “Chris Ca$h Memorial Show” entitled “Down With The Sickness.” SATURDAY Sept, 10 2011
Madada vs Ryo Ito
Now If your into the ultraviolent style of wrestling you dont wanna miss out as 2011M T.O.D Champion and CZW UVU Champ Madada takes on Big Japans Deatch match Champion Ryu Ito Champion vs Champion. This match stems back year to when Masada was a full time member of the BJW lockerroom.. Over the course of the past month words have been exchanged via CZWrestling.com and it seems personal. This match is “not for the squeemish.” If T.O.D was any indication we’ve seen Madada is focused…. Can Ito come into the CZW Arena, Masada’s “House of Ultra Violence” and run rough shot or will the top UV guy in the Dub take Ito to school.
BJ Whitmer vs Devon Moore
Now last month we saw the return to the Combat Zone of former Ring of Honor stand out BJ Whitmer. Whiter seemingly is the hired gun of the Boss DJ Hyde and took out Sami Callihan. DJ this past weekend had granted DJ a shot a Devon Moore’s CZW World Championship. Moore left the Arena last month with the CZW title by the skin of his teeth… thanks to Maven Bentley. Can the man who stood up to the whole CZW lockerroom and survived be able surpass Devon and become the CZW champion… A man who fought at one time to take CZW out? Or will Devon Moore continue to thrive as the CZW Champion.
CZW Tag Titles: Phillys Most Wanted (BLK Jeez&Joker) vs Trent 7 & MK McKinnin
Jeez and Joker have been running a much in CZW since beating the Briscoes for the Tag titles earlier this year. They have beatin’ every team that has come across the path of the two baddest dudes in CZW. They’ve disrespected authority, tried to throw Devon Moore off a balcony and seemingly have snapped. It has gotten to the point where they’ve called out EVERY relivent Tag team in the indy scene today. The higher up’s in CZW went all the way to the UK and found Fight Club Pro’s Trent 7 and fresh off an appearence in Chikara’s YLC MK McKinnin… Can the chap from the UK come to Philly and dethrown the Kings of Philly… or will PMW continue their quest to rule CZW…
Adam Cole issues an open challenge for his Junior Heavyweight Title: Now we havent seen Adam Cole in a few months in the combat zone, but dont think he hasnt been scheming and plotting. Is this Open Challenge gonna be legit or is this just another ploy by DJ Hype and “The Money”?
CZW Wired TV title: JAKE CRIST (c) vs CHRISJEN HAYME
Hayme had an excellent outing last month in Arieal Assault winning the match and impressing the CZW higher ups. Where as Jake Crist the Wired champion beat AR Fox a few months ago. Some people are saying Crist win was a fluke and that has a lot of validity.. Crist is still very untested in the combat zone but so is Hayme… Who’s gonna have a break out moment.
